How does it work?

The First Step:

Please get in touch via the telephone number on the Locations & Contact page for a brief chat, where we can arrange an initial consultation, which usually lasts around 60-90 minutes.

This will help us decide on whether us working together is the right option. Occasionally a second consultation may be necessary.

Should we decide to progress, we would then meet at a set time each week for sessions lasting 50 minutes. 

In the Therapy Room: 

Once we have decided to meet on an ongoing basis, what we then discuss has no fixed agenda or set target. What is explored is entirely up to you. I place great importance on therapy allowing you the freedom to look at every facet of your life, from earliest memories to the present day, in order to gain a greater insight into understanding your own emotional landscape.

How long will it take?

I work on the premise that there is no set length of time therapy should last.  While I have experience of working effectively on a short-term basis, I believe a long-term approach to be more effective in attaining a sustained feeling of better mental health.

Building a trusting therapeutic relationship takes time, and often the issues that initially lead us to seek therapy require time and patience to explore. I work on an open-ended basis, with the therapy coming to a natural, mutually agreed conclusion. 


For an initial consultation my fee is £50. 

My fee per session is £60.
